Literally monolithic, Myra is composed of a metamorphic stone quarried in British Columbia. To touch the surface is to touch the core. The fewest possible cuts and connections, with the least possible waste, make this bench and console exceptionally pure. In surprising contrast to its uncomplicated form, material, and methods, Myra's physical presence elicits a charge between immense substance and visual delicacy.

A Study in Material and Reduction

Formed from Canadian stone, Myra embodies design reduced to its most essential act: removing only what isn’t needed. The result is a quiet monument to material intelligence. Every surface, curve, and edge is purposeful—shaped not for spectacle, but for stillness.

Designed by Simon Henry, a stone manufacturer by day and designer by play. With over 15 years mastering his medium, Simon bridges technical precision and creative curiosity.

In 2021, Simon began experimenting with large radii, pushing both material and machinery to their limits. From that exploration, Myra emerged: a deceptively simple expression born of immense skill and restraint.

Product Details

Form

Myra’s geometry relies on proportion, not embellishment. Wide radii and softened transitions evoke movement within mass, turning what could be rigid into something fluid. It’s sculpture first, furniture second.

Function

Myra is built for use inside or out. Its structure provides inherent strength without visible joinery. The console and bench act as grounding elements within a room, steady and assured, serving both practical and spatial roles.

Material

From a slab of BC stone, each piece is shaped by CNC, then refined by hand. The process erases signs of manufacture, revealing only the quiet curve of intent. The outcome: a tactility that invites touch as much as it commands presence.

Finish

Myra is offered in two finishes: Rough Natural, preserving the stone’s raw texture and geological depth, and Leathered, a subtle matte treatment that softens the surface without diminishing its integrity.
