Carmanah Table
Brutal embrace.
The Carmanah Table was inspired by the exploration of materiality. The Carmanah Valley is home to some of the largest old-growth trees on Vancouver Island, as well as home to the quarry that yields the black marble. With the materials existing in such proximity in nature, we wanted to explore what they could look like together. The honed marble base is carved from a solid block, creating a statuesque cradle for the fitted hardwood legs.

STONE CRADLE
We honed the marble base for the Carmanah Series out of a single block of Canadian stone to form a statuesque cradle for hardwood table legs. Named after its source, the stone comes from local quarries in Hope and the Carmanah Valley on Vancouver Island. Occasionally, we also produce limited-run editions using manufacturing waste and offcuts.
